Finnish two-handed star Osku Palermaa won the final stop of the Swedish Super Six Tour 2011, defeating the number 1 seed James Gruffman, 246-204, in the title match at Baltiska Bowlinghallen in Malmö.
Tomas Leandersson came from behind to claim his third victory within the last twelve months on the Swedish Super Six Tour. In the Nyköping Super Bowl, Tomas defeated his Team Pergamon teammate, Kim Bolleby, in the title match, 242-224.
It was an emotional win for Leandersson. He dedicated it to his father Arne, who passed away about one month ago.
“My dad started the first bowling club in my hometown Degerfors in 1969, and it was he who introduced me to bowling. I was thinking about him all the time and this victory was for him”, Tomas said.
After over a decennium of successful competition on the Swedish elite tour have the organizers and the Swedish Bowling federation decided that this is the end of this era. The number of participants has slowly become less probably since the growing popularity of regional tours around in Sweden.
Sweden’s top bowlers made it to the step ladder final – national team ace Martin Larsen top performed when he had to and won Super Six in Jönköping. Closed followed by his national team mate Dennis Eklund and the captain Tomas Leandersson who is still going strong.
22-year-old Norwegian Svein Åke Ek defeated Mattias Wetterberg in the title match of ÖIS International in Gothenburg, 258-179, to claim his first title on the Swedish Super Six Tour.
For most of the final stages of the tournament Tomas Leandersson was just one of the players in the middle of the pack, but when O´Learys Super Six in Skövde was to be decided, the Swedish multiple World champion took over and easily knocked out his opponents in the stepladder final.
Dominic Barrett only needed one week to claim his first title of 2011. The 25-year-old from Colchester, England won the 31st AIK Tournament at Bowl-O-Rama, Stockholm, which was also the first stop of the Swedish Super Six Tour 2011.

The Swedish Super Six Tour 2010 ended the same way as it started – with Tomas Leandersson lifting the winner´s trophy. Tomas started by winning the first tour stop, AIK International Tournament, and he closed out the year by capturing the title in the sixth and final stop, Kulladal Super Six in Baltiska Bowlinghallen, Malmö.
