Barrett defeated home-favourite Tomas Leandersson in the title match, 224-217.
“I struggled during the qualifications and needed all three re-entries to make the cut, but I learned a lot during those games and was much more comfortable in the finals,” said Barrett.
Using a slightly different format, the Super Six finals now includes 40 players, among which the top 8 qualify directly for final round 2.
After final round 3, the top 4 qualified for the stepladder. They were Tomas Leandersson, Dominic Barrett, Swede Tommy Wendel and Finnish 19-year-old Perttu Jussila.
In the first game Wendel defeated Jussila 225-214 to set up a match with Barrett. Here both players displayed brilliant bowling and the Englishman opened with nine strikes but still hadn´t secured the victory before entering the last frame.
Barrett needed to strike on his tenth ball to close out Wendel, who was working on a seven-bagger of his own. Dominic Barrett closed out the match with another strike and went on to win it by 289-244.
“I knew that Tommy (Wendel) played extremely well on the fresh oil so I needed a very good game. Fortunately I was able to put it together when I needed it”, said Barrett.
In the title match, No 1. seed Tomas Leandersson had a narrow lead by 12 pins after five frames, but Barrett turned things around with four strikes in frames 6-9. When Leandersson couldn´t strike on his second ball in the tenth frame, Barrett knew that he needed a spare in his last frame to win.
He finished on the left lane where he had been very comfortable (8 strikes out of 9) and he was able to throw a solid ball in the pocket. Still, it could have ended badly as both the 7 and 10 pins seemed to be standing. However, another pin came across the board and knocked down the 10 pin.
What remained was a simple execution, which was carried out when Barrett spared the 7 pin to win the tournament.

After the finals of the AIK Tournament, the finals of the Super Six Tour 2010 were conducted with the traditional shoot-out format. Six players qualified for the Super Star and the VBS Ladies Tour finals respectively. Each player was given the opportunity to strike nine times.
Swedish national team player Rebecka Larsen Jr. won the VBS Ladies Tour shoot-out for the first time. Both Larsen Jr. and Helén Johnsson had seven strikes after nine frames. In the next frame, Helén missed and Rebecka secured her victory with another strike to walk away with the top prize of 40 000 SEK (approximately 4 700 euro).
The Super Star final was won by Mikael Roos. After seven frames Roos, Martin Paulsson and Tomas Leandersson each had four strikes. Roos went on to strike in both the 8th and 9th frame to edge out his opponents.
