Super Six Jönköping: Martin Larsen was striking like a Viking

Sweden’s top bowlers made it to the step ladder final – national team ace Martin Larsen top performed when he had to and won Super Six in Jönköping. Closed followed by his national team mate Dennis Eklund and the captain Tomas Leandersson who is still going strong.

The outsider Markus Karlsson, Nobel fought till the end and finished in fourth place.

In the second step in the final the audience was treated by an exciting heavy weight fight. Martin Larsen took the chance when Tomas Leandersson left the eight frame open with a split (4-6), he did the strikes he needed to and he climbed another step for the last match in the event.

 

Dennis Eklund who made it to the final step 1 through Turbo 2 with 299 in the last game in the qualifying round, had his own step ladder day. In the first final step he finished in third place, after the second round he climbed one step to the second place and after the last round before the step ladder final he stood on the top of the ladder. Dennis Eklund took the lead with four solid strikes, but the tiresome miss in the fifth frame gave Martin Larsen a chance to change the grip of the game. Dennis Eklund pushed Martin Larsen to strike in the last frame, which he did and made yet another victory.

A couple of the Swedish youngsters showed that they want to fight for the top places in the future. Both Kim Bolleby and the last year winner Patrik Bohm were close to make it to the step ladder final. The best lady finished on 13th place, Josefine Linderoth has never played the Super Six final before and she was very satisfied with her efforts.
